Vfl Wolfsburg are a Bundesliga side based in Lower Saxony. Its origins came from a sports club set up for employees of the Volkswagen automobile manufacturer. Nicknamed Die Wölfe (The Wolves) the side plays its home games at the Volkswagen Arena. Their traditional kit are green shirts and white shorts.
They are a comparatively new club, first established in 1945 – the city in which they are based was only set-up for the workers of the car manufacturer seven years earlier – and spent most of their formative years playing regional, amateur football. It was not until 1992 that they competed in Bundesliga 2 for the first time; five years later they reached the Bundesliga itself.
In 2009 under former German international Felix Magath, they won the title for the first. That team included Edin Dzeko, who later went on to play for Manchester City and Roma. Their subsequent best finish was in the 2014 – 2015 season when they finished runners-up. In 2015 they won their only one piece of senior domestic silverware, the German Cup.
The last two seasons have been poor ones for Wolfsburg. After finishing the 2015-2016 campaign in 7th place, Vfl Wolfsburg predictions of another top ten finish for the following campaign were wrong. The team struggled and had to enter the relegation play-off against Eintracht Braunschweig, which they won to preserve their Bundesliga status. The following season saw a repeat, and this time they beat Holstein Kiel to stay-up.
However, Vfl Wolfsburg betting tips for this season that predicted another struggle in the league have been confounded. They will finish in the top half of the table and are an outside bet for a Europa League bet. Looking ahead to the 2019 – 20120 season a Vfl Wolfsburg tip is to expect another finish in the top half of the table.
