Sheff Utd – nicknamed the Blades – are a Championship side based in West Yorkshire in the north of England. They play their home games at Bramall Lane, the oldest major league ground anywhere in the world. Sheffield United’s traditional kit is red and white stripes.
Founded in 1889 they won the league for the one and only time in their history 9 years later. In 1899 they won the FA Cup for the first time and went to win it on a further 3 occasions, but their 1925 triumph was their last major honour in English football.
They have spent most of their existence in the Championship or League one equivalent, but did endure one stint in the Fourth Division in 1981 – 1982.
The team has enjoyed two brief spells in the Premier League between 1992–1994 and 2006–2007 when they lasted one season.
Their main rivals are their neighbours, Sheffield Wednesday, with whom they contest the Steel City derby.
League 1 Champions in 2016 – 2017, and tenth in the Championship last season, Sheff Utd betting tips for this season doesn’t include them in the promotion fight. However, under manager Chris Wilder, a boyhood fan of the club, expectations have now changed. Sheff Utd predictions now are that the team will finish at least in the play-off positions.
However, if they manage to pomote back to the Premier League, an early Sheff Utd tip for next season, can be they will struggle in the higher league. They do not have a big budget, and that makes it hard to compete at Premier League level.
