RB Leipzig is a Bundesliga side based in Saxony. Nicknamed Die Bullen, they play their home games at the Red Bull Arena. Their traditional kit is white shirts and red shorts.
Founded in 2009 as a commercial and sporting initiative by the drinks manufacturer Red Bull. They were looking for a German club to add to its portfolio. They already own teams like Red Bull Salzburg, the New York Red Bulls, and sides in Brazil and Ghana. Due to complex ownership rules in Germany, Red Bull acquired the playing rights of SSV Markranstädt, a fifth tier team, and effectively rebranded them, but were forbidden to overtly use the Red Bull name – hence the RB initials.
From the outset the club had an ambitious target of playing Bundesliga football within a decade; they matched those expectations, by progressing through the leagues and achieving promotion to the top flight in the 2015-2016 season.
The team still disliked by fans of other clubs in Germany and the Press because of the lack of tradition and history, close affiliations with Red Bull, and the financial resources behind it. They received protests against it including a campaign by supporters’ groups called “Nein zu RB” (”No to Red Bull”). However, the company are ambitious, and a strong RB Leipzig prediction is that they will be a force in the German game for years to come.
In their first season in the Bundesliga they were runners-up in the league, and finish last year in sixth. RB Leipzig betting tips for the current campaign that featured them again finishing in the European places seems fulfilled – they are currently third and likely to play in the Champions League again next season.
And for the 2019 – 2020 season, an RB Leipzig tip is to expect another top four finish, or thereabouts.
