Nottingham Forest are a Championship side based in the East Midlands. Known simply as Forest, they play their home games at the City Ground. Their traditional kit is red shirts and white shorts.
Founded in 1865, they entered the Football League in 1892, and won the first of their two FA Cups in 1898, with the second victory coming in 1959. They spent much of the existence playing in either the first or second tiers of English football. Brian Clough and his assistant Peter Taylor, ushered in an era of unparalleled success.
Clough stabilised the team and then lead them to promotion back to the First Division. In their first season back they won the league title, and the following year lifted the European Cup. They then repeated that feat the following year. And, in that same period, they won 4 League Cups. One Nottingham Forest prediction that can be made with virtual certainty, is that the club will never experience another period which can match it in terms of success on the field.
Although Forest have a rivalry with Notts County, the two rarely play each other due to being in different divisions. Instead their bitterest rivalry is with Derby County, 14 miles distant, with whom they contest the East Midlands derby.
Relegated from the Premier League back in 1999, the club dropped into League One for a spell before returning to the Championship a decade ago. A Nottingham Forest betting tip then would be for them to achieve a safe mid-table finish.
However, the club’s owners are ambitious and have appointed the management duo of Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane to lead the club. An early Nottingham Forest tip for next season is that they may be included in the promotion race.
