Leicester – known colloquially as the Foxes – are a Premier League side based in the East Midlands. They play at the King Power Stadium and their current manager is the former Liverpool and Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers.
Founded in 1884, they joined the Football League in 1894, and have spent much of their existence shuffling back and forth the first and second divisions of English football. They have reached the FA Cup final on four occasions but lost each time. However, they have enjoyed greater success in the League Cup which they have lifted three times.
In 2008 the club sank into League 1 for the first time, but they promote back to the Championship immediately. One year later the club was sold to a Thai consortium the King Power Group. In 2014 the club got promotion back to the Premier League, and, despite being bottom of the table in their first season back, they manage to survive.
Italian Claudio Ranieri was the new manager, they became unlikely Premier League champions for the first time in their history.
The first Leicester betting tip though to impart is do not expect them to repeat that feat. An unusual combination of circumstances that season meant that all the teams competing for the title were not at their best for one reason or another. Equally though, Leicester predictions should not include the team featuring in a relegation battle. Due to their Thai owners, the club is wealthy enough to invest in quality reinforcements in the transfer market.
Instead a good Leicester tip is that, the side will be a contender for one of the European places. It might still happen this season, but they may have to wait a year.
