Leeds are a Championship side based in West Yorkshire in the north of England. They play their home games at Elland Road and the actually manager is the Argentine Marcelo Bielsa.
Founded in 1919, Leeds enjoyed their greatest success in the late 1960s and early 1970s when, under Don Revie, they became the most feared, and because of their gamesmanship and physical approach to the game, most hated side in English football. That era saw them win two league titles, the FA Cup, League Cup, and the Inter Cities Fairs Cup twice. They also reached the European Cup Final in 1975, only to lose to Bayern Munich.
Following that era the club went into decline and relegation, only to bounce back, and win a third league title in the 1991 – 92 season. The early 2000s saw the club get into severe financial difficulties. They were forced to sell most of their players, handed points’ deductions and dropped eventually into League 1, where they stayed for three years.
Since 2014, the club has played in the Championship.
Under Bielsa they are currently challenging for promotion to the Premier League; a safe Leeds betting tip is that they will secure at least a play-off place. The question is whether they will secure automatic promotion or not. Most people’s Leeds predictions have them battling it out with neighbours Sheffield United for the second spot.
One more Leeds tip surrounds the manager Bielsa. He is an unpredictable character who has a reputation for training his teams so hard they don’t last a season. He also falls out with club owners frequently. His staying in position may be key to the team’s continued success.
