Burnley are a Premier League team based in Lancashire. Founded in 1882, they were one of the original twelve founders of the Football League. Also known as the Clarets because of the main colour of their home shirt. They play all their home games at Turf Moor Stadium.
Although the club won the FA Cup in 1914, and the League in 1921, the heyday of the side was probably the 1959 – 1960 season when playing a brand new type of football not seen in the English game before, Burnley clinched the league for the second time.
However, within 15 years the club relegate and began a journey down the leagues until they reached the Fourth Division, just avoiding going out of the league altogether, and probable financial liquidation, when they beat Leyton Orient in the final game of that season.
By 2009 they had made it back to the elite, winning promotion to Premier League via the play-offs. Several relegations and promotions have followed, and they are now in their third consecutive season of their current spell. Last season (2017 – 2018) they finished seventh, and qualified for the Europa League.
In terms of Burnley Betting Tips, that seventh place finish should be considered an outlier. Burnley have one of the smallest budgets in Premier League and will always struggle to compete financially with some rivals.
They are more likely to feature in the relegation battle each season, and anybody who use this in their Burnley predictions for the current season would have accurate in their forecast.
However, they are often strong at home. They have a small, tight ground which some of the bigger teams don’t like to visit. This is a very useful Burnley tip if you want to bet on them.
