Brentford are a Championship side based in West London. Known as The Bees, they play their home games at Griffin Park. Their traditional kit is red and white shirts with white sleeves, and black shorts.
Founded in 1889, they joined the league in 1920, and have spent all their existence in the lower tiers football. Their best era came in the 1930s when they achieved three successive top-six finishes in the First Division. They have never won a senior English trophy, with four FA Cup quarter-finals the closest that they have come. Brentford won promotion from League One in 2014 and have played in the Championship ever since.
In 2015 they reached the Championship play-offs but were beaten home and away by Middlesbrough who went on to lose the final to Norwich City.
Their main rivals are local sides Fulham and Queens Park Rangers (QPR). Whilst the enmity with Fulham is long-standing, the hostility to QPR dates back to 1967 when Rangers tried to take over Rangers, move into their Griffin Park ground, and force Brentford to quit the league.
Since that run to the play-offs, Brentford have finished safely in mid-table in the Championship; anybody who based their Brentford betting tips for this season on such an outcome would have been rewarded. Based on their current form and points table, a Brentford prediction for the finishing position this campaign is somewhere between 12th and 14th.
Same expectation for the next season. The club does not have large financial resources or a major fan base, so it is doubtful if it could cope with the demands of Premier League football. That means a Brentford tip for next season is to expect more of the same.
